The Shear is a tidy, well kept farm of 40 acres surrounding the farmhouse and cottage. Sheep are the main enterprise, lambing during March and April. We very much enjoy interest from visitors. Dogs are welcome. There is a kennel with run for occasional use. (See Picture Gallery) Those interested in gardening will find The Shear has a special appeal. The gardens, reflecting the owners interest, are well stocked with a large variety of interesting trees, plants and shrubs. The area boasts many famous gardens which are open to the public and has an abundance of nurseries and plant centres within easy reach. There are many excellent country pubs within a few miles, most serve both restaurant and bar meals at reasonable prices and welcome children. |

Tenbury Wells, about three miles to the south, is a pleasant small town on the River Teme. It has preserved its market town character and local trades people are anxious to serve you with most of your every day needs. The historic town of Ludlow is about 7 miles away and offers the visitor a host of interest from historic buildings, good shopping and antiques galore, to golf, swimming, fishing and a lovely N.H. racecourse. The well known Ludlow Festival, famous for its Shakespeare in Ludlow Castle, takes place each year during late June and early of July. The area is probably one of the most unspoilt parts of England and you will find a visit a rewarding experience, which you will wish to repeat again and again. Whilst away from the traffic and bustle of every day life, it is within easy reach of many interesting places to visit, Leominster, Ironbridge, Hereford, Worcester, Shrewsbury or the hills of Wales, The Malverns or the Long Mynd. |
